Oppositional Defiant
Disorder
| "Throughout
their
growing years, most children will from time to time exhibit
oppositional
behavior characteristics --rebelliousness, negativity and
argumentativeness.
Every parent expects to hear some defiant and nasty statements from
their
child as they go through development and especially in their teen
years.
Many psychologists have characterized preadolescence and adolescence as
a kind of repeat of the "terrible twos" in terms of the negative,
strong-willed
behavior."(Dr.
Dubin) However, some children take this behavior to an
extreme.
With a certain frequency and level of aggression, these characteristics
become Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Below, you will find links
to many resources regarding ODD. |
